Tech:NYC Statement on the American Rescue Plan

Tech:NYC Executive Director Julie Samuels released the following statement today after the House of Representatives passed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan:

“This is one of those rare occasions when Washington truly delivers for New York across the board. I applaud Brooklyn-born Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, the rest of New York’s congressional delegation, and other Democratic legislators for getting this bill across the finish line. The American Rescue Plan was passed just in time to keep thousands of small businesses and individual New Yorkers afloat, especially mothers, people of color, and everyone else who has been particularly hard hit over this past year. Delivering aid to New York isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s an investment in our future. Our small businesses, from restaurants and theaters to street corner bodegas, are the reason so many people and companies come here. This package is affirmation of that truth, and evidence of a robust recovery underway.”
