TECH:NYC REPRESENTS NEW YORK'S TECH ECONOMY.
Tech:NYC is an engaged network of tech leaders working to foster a dynamic, diverse, and creative New York. We bring together New Yorkers to support a successful technology ecosystem, attract and retain top-tier talent, and celebrate New York and the companies that call it home. Hundreds of members strong, we mobilize the expertise and resources of the tech sector of work with city and state government and civic stakeholders to ensure New York remains the best place to build and grow a tech company.
WHAT WE DO
POLICY
Advocacy for Tech
We promote a positive climate for tech businesses to start and thrive in New York. We engage on legislation and regulations that directly impact our members’ abilities to operate in the state.
Advocacy for New York
We advocate for policy positions on issues that matter to our City and State. The tech community and its workforce are passionate about social justice, quality of life, and the modernization of government services.
Communications + Research
Through original content, press placements and more Tech:NYC helps tell the stories of our member companies and the ecosystem at-large.
Tech:NYC also conducts original research to assess the health of the New York tech ecosystem over time, including trends on job growth, venture capital, startup activity, and emerging technologies, as well as recommendations for supporting robust tech training and workforce development systems.
Community
We curate and produce events both for our membership and to feature our membership to external audiences. Our convenings aim to connect peers across our member network in several streams:
Board of Directors and other member executives;
Startup founders;
Investors and VCs;
Functional leads — HR, legal, policy, communications;
The broader ecosystem
We also partner with company leadership, as well as their ERGs, to build initiatives that support BIPOC, LGBTQ+, immigrant, and other underrepresented tech founders and workers.
Social Impact
The Tech:NYC Foundation serves as the social impact engine of our tech ecosystem. By connecting member companies to community needs, the foundation empowers them to become civic leaders and make New York City a better place to live and work.
Key programs include:
CS Fair: An annual event where 2,000+ public high school students explore tech careers, hosted by NYC tech companies and nonprofits.
FutureReadyNYC: A transformative micro-internship program offering NYC public high school students hands-on career exploration in high-growth fields.
Decoded Futures: A bridge-building initiative that equips nonprofits with AI tools to tackle NYC’s toughest challenges.
