New York startups are raising larger amounts of money more quickly. In 2021 alone, there have been more than 150 “megadeal” rounds — investments at $100 million or more. That’s up from 48 megadeals in 2020.

This year’s megadeals have catapulted at least 17 homegrown companies to unicorn status, further cementing NYC’s standing as one of the most attractive places to build and grow a tech company.
