#TechTurnsOut
NYC's tech community is coming together to increase voter registration and turnout for both the upcoming election, and for all elections and policy issues in the years to come.
Currently, New York’s voter registration percentage is among the worst in the country and we don’t do much better when it comes to turnout.
We need you to help fix this. Join companies like AppNexus, AOL, Bitly, Etsy, Foursquare, JustWorks, Kickstarter, and Twitter by participating in at least one of the programs below.
Then let the world know by downloading our logo here and putting it on your website or your social media accounts. And don’t forget to let us know what you’re up to! You can fill out this quick form or email us at techturnsout@technyc.org.
Voting is important. Really important. You probably know that already, but way too many Americans don’t do it. By just doing a small amount — joining ongoing efforts and implementing tools that have already been developed — our community can do what it does best: use technology and networks to fix problems.
National Voter Registration Day
On September 27, 2016, volunteers, celebrities, and organizations from all over the country will “hit the streets” for National Voter Registration Day. This single day of coordinated field, technology and media efforts will create pervasive awareness of voter registration opportunities. Tech:NYC is partnering with National Voter Registration Day and Headcount to provide in-office resources to register employees and other New Yorkers IRL.
Join these companies in closing your office for Election Day and giving your employees an opportunity to vote and get engaged.
